Privacy Policy — Pouch Recorder

Pouch Recorder ("the app") is a voice recorder for Android. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. In short: your recordings stay on your device and the developer never receives them. The app is free and supported by ads, and the advertising service (Google AdMob) collects limited data as described below.

Your recordings

The developer does not collect, receive, sell, or share your recordings or any content of them. Recordings are created and stored only on your device and are never uploaded to the developer or anyone else.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app displays ads through Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google's advertising SDK collects and shares certain data from your device, including your Advertising ID, approximate (coarse, IP-based) location, and interactions with the ads. Google uses this data to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud. This is handled by Google, not by the developer, and is governed by Google's Privacy & Terms.

You are in control of ad personalization:

• In regions where consent is required (e.g. the EU/UK), the app shows a consent form the first time it runs; if you decline, you will receive non-personalized ads.
• You can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads, and opt out of ad personalization there.

Microphone

The app requests the microphone permission solely to record audio when you tap the record button. Recording only happens when you start it, and a notification is shown while a recording is in progress. Audio is never streamed or uploaded anywhere.

Where recordings are stored

Recordings are saved in the app's private storage on your device (Android/data internal app storage). They are not accessible to other apps and are not backed up to the cloud. You can play, rename, or permanently delete them at any time within the app.

Sharing

If you choose to share a recording using the app's Share button, the file is handed to whichever app you pick (email, messaging, etc.) through Android's standard share sheet. That action is entirely under your control; the developer is not involved and receives nothing.

Permissions used

• Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO) — to record audio you initiate.
• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) — to show the ongoing recording notification.
• Foreground service / microphone — to keep recording reliably while the app is in the background or the screen is off.
• Wake lock — to prevent the device from interrupting an active recording.
• Internet & network state (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) — used only by the ad service to load ads.
• Advertising ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID) — used by Google AdMob to serve ads.

Children

The app is a general-purpose utility, is not directed at children, and displays ads, so it is intended for a general (non-child) audience.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date.
